Directions to IFI

From the North

Take State Road 37 South to the first Bloomington exit (Walnut Street/College Avenue). Proceed 3.5 miles to the second stoplight. Turn left onto State Road 45/46 and drive .7 mile to the second stoplight (Indiana State Police Post is on the right). Turn right onto Fee Lane. Turn Left onto N. Jordan Avenue. Chi Omega will be the ninth chapter facility on the left, just across the street from Kappa Sigma.

From the West and Southwest

Take State Road 45 or 48 to State Road 37 and continue heading north. Take the Bloomington exit for 45 North/46 East. Continue straight off the ramp to the fourth stoplight (Indiana State Police Post is on the right). Turn right onto Fee Lane. Turn Left onto N. Jordan Avenue. Chi Omega will be the ninth chapter facility on the left, just across the street from Kappa Sigma.

From the Northwest

Follow State Road 46 into Bloomington. Cross over State Road 37 and continue to the fourth stoplight (Indiana State Police Post is on the right). Turn right onto Fee Lane. Turn Left onto N. Jordan Avenue. Chi Omega will be the ninth chapter facility on the left, just across the street from Kappa Sigma.

From the South

Take State Road 37 North to the Bloomington exit for 45 North/46 East. Continue straight off the ramp to the fourth stoplight (Indiana State Police Post is on the right). Turn right onto Fee Lane. From the East

Take State Road 46 to Bloomington. SR46 becomes East Third Street. Continue on Third Street and turn right onto Jordan Avenue. Cross 7th, 10th and 17th streets, continuing on Jordan. Chi Omega will be the fourth chapter facility on the right after crossing 17th street.



Traveling to IFI by Air

From the Indianapolis International Airport, you can take the Bloomington Shuttle Service or a limousine to IU.

The Bloomington Shuttle Service offers round-trip transportation between the airport and Bloomington seven days a week, nine times a day. For more information, call 1-800-589-6004.

Indiana University:

Founded in 1820 The classical limestone campus was rated as one of the top five most beautiful campuses in T.A.Gaines’ book, The Campus as a Work of Art. The first men’s fraternity was Beta Theta Pi, established in 1845. the first women’s fraternity was Kappa Alpha Theta established in 1870.

Arboretum:

Located where IU’s Memorial Stadium once stood ( and where Little 500 bicycle races were held, as featured in the Academy Award–winning film Breaking Away), the arboretum is a popular place for the contemplation and relaxation, especially during the the warmer months of the year. More than 450 trees and shrubs and hundreds of varieties of plants-many of which honor notable individuals or events- are planted in the arboretum.

IU Art Museum:

Housed in a distinctive building designed by I. M Pei and Partners, the IU Art Museum serves as both a teaching and an artistic resource for members of the IU community. The museum, which ranks as one of the leading university art museums in the country, has a collection of more than 30,000 objects representing nearly every art-producing culture through history. The museum is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Assembly Hall:

Home of basketball’s “Hurryin’ Hoosiers,” Assembly Hall is a 17,500-seat multi purpose building that also host women’s home Basketball games, the Little 500 Tricycle Race, and occasional Rock concerts. Basketball is one of IU’s 21 men’s and women’s Intercollegiate varsity sports. Many facilities for these events are Located on or near 17th Street.

Beck Chapel & Dunn Cemetery:

This small, nondenominational chapel is open for worship seven days a week and houses a collection of scared books and objects representing the world’s religions. Beck Chapel is also a favorite location for weddings and other ceremonies.

The country’s largest student union houses a 190 room hotel, 7 Union dining areas, complete bookstore, bowling, billiards, game room, hair salon and the IMU Gallery.

Musical Arts Center:

The MAC features an acoustically refined auditorium and a stage with technical capabilities unequaled by those of any other U.S. university facility. Eight full-scale operas are performed at the MAC each year, costumes and sets are designed and created in the building. The sculpture in front of the building, Peau Rouge Indiana, is by Alexander Calder.

The Old Crescent Historic District:

The 20-acre area of campus known as the Old Crescent Historic District contains nine buildings built between 1884 and 1908 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. At the center is Dunn Woods, which features more than 80 varieties of trees.

Showalter Fountain & Fine Arts Plaza:

Comprised of Lilly Rare Book Library, Auditiorium, Fine Arts Radio/TV Building. The centerpiece of what is known as the Fine Arts Plaza is Showalter Fountain. The two ton sculpture, which was designed and executed by the later Robert Laurent, a former IU faculty member, depicts the birth of Venus.

Well House:

The small, open air pavilion, which served as the original water supply for the university, was built roughly in the shape of a Beta Theta Pi fraternity pin. In earlier times, tradition held that a student attained coed status by being kissed in the Well House while the Student Building bells chimed the 12 strokes of Midnight.

Kirkwood Avenue:

This street, filled with unique shops, restaurants, and taverns, connects the Monroe County courthouse with Sample Gates, the entrance to Indiana University.
